We successfully wrapped up our second installment as part of our Nonprofit Learning Series in partnership with Hedges, a local nonprofit consulting firm! The training sessions involve a blend of instruction and hands-on engagement, and nonprofit leaders gained valuable insight into learning how to build and evaluate programs. Check fraud has increased by 385% since the pandemic. These schemes commonly target the U.S. mail to steal checks, alter or wash them to change the payee and dollar amount, and ultimately steal money from victims’ accounts. The American Bankers Association Foundation and U.S. Postal Inspection Service have partnered to release an infographic to educate consumers about check washing and what they can do to protect their mail and their checks.
